Half way to 50..what?!

Hi everyone! The past month has been insanely busy & to be honest, I have not even been focusing on my blog. My brother got married at the beginning of April, welcome to the family Madison! Their wedding was absolutely amazing! It was gorgeous!!! & my mom has spent a week in Charlotte while they were on their honeymoon!

April is the birthday month for a lot of my family and friends. We literally celebrate all month long!! Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 25. Holy cow, I can not believe I am that old. I remember turning 18 and thinking I was an “adult”. When I reflect back I cannot believe everything that has happened so far in my life. Or what has even happened within the last five years. It’s honestly amazing how fast time goes by. Sometimes I feel like I am behind. Most of my friends are married, pregnant, and have great jobs. And I’m still figuring out what exactly I want to do with life. When I was younger I remember thinking, by 24 I want to be married & have kids. What the hell was I thinking? There is no way I am ready for any of that! I am so content with life right now. I love living in an area with endless opportunities, I have met amazing people, & I have an amazing boyfriend. I am so excited to see what my future holds, but for now, i plan on enjoying life day by day! Cheers to 25 🍾🥂

Shein Review

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I have a love/hate relationships with Sunday’s 😕 I love getting everything ready to start off the week but also hate that the weekend is over. My favorite part of Sunday is Sunday brunch & drinking mimosas! We either do Sunday brunch at Terrace Cafe in Ballantyne, or Alex cooks for us at home! If you go to Terrace be on the lookout for Panther players, it’s a hot spot for them. We saw Luke this morning!

Who has ever ordered from Shein? I found out about shein about a year ago when my friend & I were looking at a bloggers Instagram. Shein is almost to good to be true. Shein is an online retailer that has super cute pieces, for super cheap. They take high end items, make a similar item like that item, and sell it for way less. Shein posts new items everyday. The items they post are very trendy, and are similar to items you will see at Nordstrom or similar to designer items.

The sizing on the items varies a lot. I am usually a medium or 8. And I have pieces from there that are 6-10 and small-xl. When ordering an item, make sure to read the reviews!!! Reading reviews will help you visualize what it actually looks like on, and how the sizing works. I always read reviews, because not everyone looks like the models 😉

The only downfall is the shipping & returning. The warehouse for Shein is in China, so the shipping takes at least a week- two weeks. But the good news is, they now offer free returns! So if an item doesn’t work, you can easily return it.

When ordering, realize you get what you pay for. The items are really cheap, so they only last a few times. I have a few tops that i constantly wear, but i also have a few dresses that look bad after wearing them twice. I usually only order tops and dresses. When reading the reviews on shorts & pants, I have realized they run really really small.

I hope this is helpful for anyone wanting to order from shein! Let me know what you guys decide to order!! Below I have posted a few items I have got from shein!

Life of Courtney

Happy Thursday! This weather in Charlotte is soooo nasty! All I have wanted to do this week is nap and watch Netflix, but I have done everything but that.

My brother is getting married in April, and we are so excited! So earlier this week I spent Monday and Tuesday finding the perfect dresses for my aunt, cousins, and grandma. Its so fun watching and helping others find the perfect outfit for events! Today I spent 4 hours at a doctors office and didn’t even have the right paperwork to be seen (I am not very happy about this), but life goes on! Props to anyone that can work in the medical field, because I could NEVER do it. Also since its March 1st, I’ve decided its a good month to start focusing on my fitness goals.

When I lived in WV, fitness and health was my main focus. I was basically obsessed with it. I would work out twice a day and would freak out if I missed a workout. Because of this, I didn’t really have a life. I had a great body, but no life. However, when I moved to Charlotte I realized there was more to life than the gym. I was focused on work, meeting new people, and having fun. All of this resulted in weight gain. I was still working out, just not as much and not watching my food and drink intake. Then I met Alex. We love to have a good time and drink, and this has resulted in more weight gain. Over the past couple weeks I have really noticed, so I thought I need to try the “new month, new goals” saying. I plan on eating healthier, doing orange theory 4-5 times a week, and the stair climber everyday for 31 days. These are some pretty big goals, but I have faith I can do it. I would LOVE if anyone would do the stair climber with me for 31 days. The good thing about working out with others, is that it motivates you more to get your session done. If you would like to do this with me, lets use the hashtag #stairstosummerbod and tag me in it please! I did it for 30 minutes today, and watched Netflix and the time went by pretty quick!

I really hope everyone will join me this month in this! We won’t regret it come summer, I promise!!

I am also focusing more on blogs & outfit posts this month. Since I am currently not working at Belk Corporate, I am working on other things. Cant wait to share with you guys soon!

Have a great weekend!

Valentine’s Day date night outfits ❤️

Happy Monday! I am so glad it’s February! It felt like January was the longest month ever!! I have been so busy, but now I’m able to focus on my blog/instagram more! So make sure you stay up to date on blogs & outfit posts!

February means Valentine’s Day! This is mine & Alex’s first Valentine’s Day together & I am super excited!! I am having a hard time coming up with gifts though 😬 any ideas? Please share! Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse for couples to get dressed up and have a date night! Everywhere was booked for dinner, but thankfully we got into one of our favorite restaurants! Below I have added a few dresses for the perfect outfit. I can’t decide if I want to wear red or pink! (I would post my options, but he reads my blog soo I don’t want to spoil the surprise!) I will be sure to post a picture & let you guys know what I picked! I have added dresses that are pink & red, because when I think of Valentine’s Day those are the colors that come to mind!! These dresses are from H&M, Dillard’s, Express, and Nordstrom!

I hope everyone has an amazing week! I have a closet consultation tomorrow that I am sooo excited about!! I will be sure to take before & after pics!

Closet Cleanout/Organization

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is ready for a new week! Sundays is my favorite day because it is perfect for relaxing and getting things ready for the upcoming week! Sorry for taking a few weeks off, my life has been so crazy the past few weeks! I have been so busy and have spent a week back in WV.

When I got home on Thursday I looked at my closet and realized how big of a mess it was🤦🏼‍♀️. I have been traveling a lot over the holidays and the first few weeks of the new year, so my closet is an absolute mess. I had stuff everywhere and had a hard time finding the clothes I needed. So today I decided to organize. I did a “mini” closet redo, because I didn’t have tons of time. I always do a huge closet redo at the end of winter and at the end of summer. Since I have so many clothes (oops!) I have to separate them by seasons and put them in two different closets. Today I worked on my main closet with my winter clothes. During this mini redo, I straightened all the hangers, put clothes back with their “categories” and made sure everything looked neat. I have 2 rows of clothes in my closet, so everything black on the bottom row has to be turned inside out. Sadie likes to hangout in my closet & hide underneath my clothes 😫 (I ALWAYS find her here when she is pouting or not getting enough attention). If I do not turn these clothes inside out, they will be covered with dog hair!

Organizing tips-

Avoid the dresser!! If you can, try and hang most of your clothes up. I have never been a fan of putting clothes in a dresser, because I forget they are in there! I use my dresser for pajamas, under garments, socks, and scarves!

Clean often! I feel like I am always cleaning out my closets. It is always good to get rid of the items you are not wearing. When I am cleaning out, I always ask myself the same question do I love this? If not, toss it! If you don’t like it then, chances are you will never wear it.

Give away/ Donate/Sell  I always try and sell the clothes after I clean out, that way I can go buy more and not feel guilty. The clothes that do not sale, I will give away to families in need or charities. There is always someone needing clothes and shoes.

Closet Tips-

  1. Keep all of bottoms together. For example, all jeans, leggings, and skirts are hanging near each other. That way you have all of my options and don’t have to look for them.
  2. Keep dresses organized by sleeve length. It is easier to keep them organized that way. It also looks more organized when they are hanging sleeveless, short sleeve, three quarter, and long sleeve.
  3. Workout clothes! All workout clothes are together. I have tons and tons of workout clothes and sometimes they end up all over the place. I have the tops and jackets on a rack and then the pants and leggings together. My workout clothes are always in the closet, and won’t move when I do my huge clean out.
  4. Keep blouses and sweaters separated. I have my blouses on the top shelf and sweaters below, so it is easy to find a sweater if I need one to cover up my blouse.
  5. Casual tops. I keep all my casual tanks, t shirts, and long sleeves together and organized by sleeve length. These are in the center of my closet, so it is easy to find if I need to pair it with an outfit.
  6. Shoes and more shoes. Keep them organized!!! I am the worlds worst at forgetting a pair of shoes and then finding them a month later and realizing how cute they are! My shoes are very organized, so i can see all of my options. Even though I am usually in my house shoes or loafers, it is nice to have options. I also switch my shoes out with my outfits for different seasons!

This is just a few tips for a “mini” closet clean out! If you ever have any questions or need help, please let me know! I also offer closet clean out services, so I would be more than happy to come help & get rid of the clothes for you!!!

Before- After-

Have a great week!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. I spent the holidays at home in West Virginia with my family. It was such a great time! Even though I love living and working in Charlotte, West Virginia will always be my home.

I cannot believe 2017 is almost over!! It has been such an AMAZING year for me. I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store!!! I also have a HUGE announcement that I cannot wait to share with everyone!!!!! Have a great week!

Talk about me Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday! So this week I wanted to do a Q & A about myself! I love reading other people’s Q & A so I thought you guys might enjoy this!
1. What do you spend most of your money on? Well this is easy, and probably something every single one of you can guess. Shopping. I love to shop, and admit I have a major shopping problem. But the two main things I spend most of my money on are dresses and shoes. I am a firm believer that shoes make or break an outfit, so you must always have great shoes.
2. How did you and Alex meet? Well it’s a long story..buttt. I saw him online, on another guys bumble account & as soon as I saw his picture I screamed out oh my gosh who is that cute guy?! Sure enough it was a girl I worked with boyfriends brother. She ended up introducing us at a pregame before a concert & we’ve been together ever since!
3. Where do you online shop the most? Well, with living in Charlotte I don’t online shop as much as I use to. There are tons of boutiques and shopping here for me! But when I do online shop, I shop at Nordstrom, lululemon, and Neiman Marcus. I also use online shopping to look at stuff, and then end up going to the store to buy it!
4. Why did you decide to move to Charlotte? I graduated in may 2016 and moved home to WV. After living there for the summer, & being very bored, I decided I wanted to go back to school. I enrolled in Concord, and the day before classes I decided I couldn’t live in WV any longer. So I moved to Charlotte within the next month. It was a very brave, and scary move but I had nothing to lose. I moved here for better opportunity & I thank god every day that I did. It was the best decision of my life. I also really enjoy working with fashion, and that’s something i couldn’t do in WV.
5. When did you get Sadie? & why a bulldog? I got Sadie when I was in 11th grade. I was currently living with my dad at the time & our neighbor had a bulldog. From the second I saw her bulldog I fell in love!!! English bulldogs have a ton of health problems so my dad looked around & found a Victorian bulldog breeder in Hickory, N.C. Sadie is just like an English bulldog, she is just taller & doesn’t have as many health problems. I have had her since she was 8 weeks & she is now 8 years old!
6. What is your favorite pair of shoes & favorite handbag you own? Hmm this is a hard one. My absolute favorite pair of shoes I own are my ugg houseshoes. But those are acceptable to wear in public! Haha. My favorite shoes I own are probably my black Gucci mules. I wear them all the time & they are so easy to dress up or dress down an outfit. My favorite handbag I own is my micro Celine bag. I think I love it so much because of the story behind it. I will have to do another blog post on my handbags & the trips my mom & I have went on to get them!
7. Do you ever regret getting a degree in fashion? Yes and no. I sometimes regret it because some days at work I sit and think why is my job so boring or why am I doing this. But then other days I absolutely love it. I love it because if it wasn’t for my fashion degree, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today. & without my degree, I wouldn’t be able to make my dreams come true!
8. What is the best fashion advice you can give someone? Hmm. Wear what you want!! I think “trends” are sometimes overrated. Why wear what everyone else is wearing? If you have an outfit that you want to wear, but aren’t sure it’s “in style”, who cares! Fashion is always changing. Create your own style!!
9. What is your dream job? My dream job is to own my own boutique.
10. Where do you currently work? Right now I am currently working at Belk corporate. I work with the website as a web content administrator. Basically, I work through all the samples in women clothing & get them ready to go onto the website. It’s very repetitive, but I enjoy looking at the clothing before it goes online!
That’s just a little about me, my life & my princess! I hope you guys are having a great week! We got the rest of our holiday pictures back & im loving them!! Also I want to start doing liketoknowit so you guys can see where I get my outfits! With that, you will be able to shop my outfits!

Remember the reason for the season!

Happy Holidays! I can not believe it is already December!! This year has flown by! 2017 has been amazing, so I’m excited to see if 2018 can be any better!!

This time of the year is absolutely crazy for everyone! You are decorating, buying gifts, attending parties, and traveling for the holidays. Although I know that all of us are so fortunate for everything we have & every gift we receive, there are others who are not as lucky. So instead of writing a blog on the “perfect gift” or “top 20 items” I decided to share with you a few ways to give back during the holiday season. Below I have posted 5 ways to give back or help families in need.

1. Choose a child off the Angel Tree. This is my favorite way to help. This is sponsored by the Salvation Army. These trees are usually located at Walmart or Target. You can go online to http://www.salvationarmycarolinas.org to find out exactly where the trees are located. This is such an easy way to give back. On the angels, the kids have listed items they would like to have. It is such a great feeling knowing they are getting exactly what they have wished for.

2. Giving to the local shelter. During this time of the year, there is always a shortage on coats. Coats are expensive, and hard for people to buy. It is also a good reason to clean out your closet 😉 what is old to you, is brand new to someone else. Give away clothes, coats, and accessories such as hats and gloves that you do not wear anymore.

3. Contribute to “Toys for Tots”. This is such an easy way to give gifts to children. These boxes are located pretty much everywhere during the holidays. I know many boutiques in Charlotte offer a % off if you donate a toy! Any and every toy is accepted!

4. Donate to the animal shelter. Going to the animal shelter breaks my heart. I physically can not do it. But during the holidays, and any other time, animals are in need just as much as humans. Animal shelters are always accepting food & blankets for the animals. A huge bag of food can feed a lot of the dogs/cats there. I plan on taking food/blankets to the local shelter here, but it’s very hard for me. If I walk in, I will want to leave with all the dogs! Sadie will not like that 🙊

5. Donate to the seasonal bell ringers. This money that you donate will go to the Salvation Army to help families in need. The bell ringers are usually outside of grocery stores & department stores. Any amount of money will help. Also think of the bell ringers standing in the cold. Offer them a coffee or hot chocolate 😉

These are just a few of the many ways to give back during the holiday. There are plenty of ways to help others in need! Doing a good deed & helping others will always makes you feel better, I promise!

Next week, I plan on doing a Q&A blog!! Make sure to comment or send me questions you would like for me to answer! Anything including fashion, life, or Sadie would be great!! I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Also the winner of the Couture Planet wristlet is Lakelynn Keown!! Message me your address & I’ll send you the wristlet! You will love it & look fabulous carrying it!

A very very very busy weekend!

Hi! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving & found amazing Black Friday deals! Our Thanksgiving has changed within the past 2 years, since we no longer live in WV. Now with my brother Colt & I both living in Charlotte, we decided to do Thanksgiving in Charlotte this year. It was so nice having our family together, along with Madison, my brothers fiancé & my boyfriend Alex. My mom cooked for us, my dad brought soup from Myrtle Beach (that’s a funny story to tell), and we had dessert from Reid’s in Southpark. We spent the day eating, napping, and just hanging out as a family. Thursday night, the guys went to Dick’s to see the Black Friday deals, while the girls stayed behind and watched a movie.

Early Friday morning, Alex & I got up and caught the early flight to Houston where we spent the day with his brother & fiancé for their engagement party. Taylor is originally from Texas, so It was nice seeing her family & friends. The engagement party was absolutely GORGEOUS. I’ll post pictures. We spent Friday & Saturday in Houston, and flew home late Saturday night.

Then, Sunday morning I scheduled Alex & I holiday pictures. Not thinking how late we would get in, I scheduled them for Sunday morning at 8:30, oops! Let’s just say thank god for Photoshop, because we were exhausted. We took pictures at James Boyce park in Matthews, and they turned out sooo good! After our pictures, we came home and slept for hours.

He jokes and says I try to plan as much as I can into one weekend, and I’m starting to believe that is true!!

So since Christmas is approaching, I have decided to have a “giveaway gift” for everyone that reads my blog! I’m so thankful for my followers! The gift will be a handbag from http://www.coutureplanet.com. Make sure to look them up! I saw the bags at a boutique in Charlotte & fell in love! To enter for the gift, like my Facebook/Instagram & leave a comment on my blog post or social media posts! The winner will be announced next Tuesday evening!!

Below are pictures from the engagement party & our holiday photos!

Hope everyone has an amazing week!

12 of my favorite Christmas gifts for under $200!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m sooo glad we have a short work week this week! I wish every week ended with a day full of eating & a day full of shopping! Wishful thinking! I am going to Houston to celebrate the engagement of one of my favorite couples & I cannot wait! They are so special to me! I haven’t seen them since July, so excited is an understatement!

I have decided to show you guys 12 of my favorite gifts for Christmas from Nordstrom. I am a huge Nordstrom lover because they have absolutely everything! They also have the best shoe sale 😉 They are having a sale right now, so go check it out! Some of the items I have listed are actually on sale right now, so make sure to check them out before they sale out, or the price goes back up!

1. Tory Burch “Miller” flip flops

These sandals have always been my favorite. Tory Burch always comes out with different colors each year. They are just a good everyday wear in the spring & summer. I always size a half size down because they stretch!

2. Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant Necklace

This necklace is the perfect gift or stocking stuffer! I have seen women of all ages wearing this. I love the sparkle/glitter ones because they are perfect for the holidays and New Year’s Eve! I have the black necklace & tend to wear It almost everyday. This necklace is also a great layering piece!

3. Hunter “gloss” rain boot

I love the short version of the Hunter rain boots! I think they are so cute. I feel like the tall rain boots are overrated because they have literally been around forever. They come in gloss and original. The short rain boots are great to wear with jeans or leggings!

4. Chanel “coco” perfume gift set

I got this perfume a few weeks ago and I am absolutely in love!! It smells sooo good! All you have to do is spray a little bit & It will last the whole day. I use to have a hard time finding a perfume that lasted all day. Nordstrom offers a lot of variety of gift sets with different perfumes so make sure to check them all out!

5. Bauble Bar Piñata tassel earrings

How cute are these?! They are great for Holiday parties! I love this color! They come in other varieties. Statement earrings can make an outfit & I feel like these are perfect! Tassel earrings have been in style for a long time and I’m so glad! They’re so cute!

6. UGG genuine slipper

OMG. I cannot express how much I love my ugg house-shoes. Everyone needs a pair. If you cannot decide on what to get someone for Christmas, get them these. I literally wear them all the time. As soon as I get home from work I put them on. I also wear them to run errands 🙊. They are so comfortable and warm!!

7. Fit Bit flex 2 small bangle

I have always had a love/hate relationship with fitbits. When I️ use to wear one, I️ hated the bracelet. I just thought It was ugly. Then Tory Burch came out with one, but It was very thick and wide. It was to big for me. I love how small this bangle is. It is easy to stack with other bracelets. You honestly won’t even realize it’s different from your normal bracelets!

8. American Atelier wine glasses

How cute are these! These are the perfect gifts for a wine lover! I believe you can never have to many wine glasses! I love the detail on the bottom. Even if you aren’t a huge wine drinker, they can be used for beer or mixed drink!

9. UGG dream faux fur throw

Omg. I bought one of these a few weeks ago for myself, and Sadie has not got off of It since I got It. She sleeps on It, naps on It, and is constantly laying on It. It is so comfortable and cozy. It is perfect for cold nights. Bed bath and beyond has them for a little cheaper so make sure to check It out. The only downfall, is It is dry clean only. Sadie will go crazy when she realizes It will be gone for a few days! Haha

10. Nars lip color gloss

How pretty is this pink color? I love It. I usually stay away from bright lip colors, but I think I’m going to try this. Nars has a great makeup line & tons of lip gloss so make sure to check them all out.

11. Nike Roshe two knit Sneaker

I love the color of these shoes! I love how tennis shoes are starting to become more stylish. I think these are perfect for the gym, but they will also look cute with jeans, or a casual t shirt dress and jean jacket.

12. Vince Camuto Destilly 2 bootie

I have been looking everywhere for a pair of booties like this! I love snakeskin! It is such a fun print and easy to pair with everything. These will go perfect with black jeans and a solid top with a fur vest! Perfect casual holiday outfit! Also make sure to check out all Vince Camuto shoes! They have really cute stuff & have great prices.

I hope this helps with your Christmas shopping & buying for that one person that has absolutely everything!! I am so excited to start Christmas shopping! It gives me a reason to go to the mall 😉

This weekend we have family Christmas photos! I am so excited and can not wait to share pictures with everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving & goodluck Black Friday shopping!!
